FJD PaintMaster Parking PL01 to Make Global Exhibition Debut at INTERGEO 2026

This September, FJD PaintMaster Parking PL01 will make its global exhibition debut at INTERGEO 2026 in Munich, giving industry professionals their first opportunity at a major international exhibition to see the system up close. 

Since its launch, PL01 has drawn interest in a category where robotic solutions for hard-surface marking are still relatively rare. For professional parking lot striping and restriping, the challenge is not simply automating the spray pass. On existing sites, crews may still need to recover faded markings, verify layouts and make sure fresh paint aligns with what is actually on the ground. PL01 extends automation further upstream, into how the site is captured, understood and prepared before painting begins.

At INTERGEO, visitors will be able to see how that approach comes together in practice—from the real parking lot to a digital world model, and back to precise execution on the pavement.

From the Real Site to a Working World Model

PL01 starts from a different point. Instead of beginning with a predefined path, it begins by capturing and understanding the real site.

Using an FJD S2 Max Scanner, crews can capture the parking lot as it exists, including its geometry, existing markings, obstacles and surrounding conditions. A parking lot with around 500 spaces can be scanned in approximately 10 minutes. 

The captured data is then brought into FJD Trion Model​, where the site map can be built in just a few clicks. Striping templates can be added directly to the model, then positioned, adjusted or created to match the job.

This moves much of the task preparation away from the pavement. Instead of repeatedly measuring the site or rebuilding the job through a separate drawing workflow, crews can prepare the striping task against a digital representation of the parking lot as it stands today. For a large or complex site, that can remove a significant amount of setup that would otherwise need to be resolved on location. Once the map and striping task are ready, the team can test how PL01 will carry out the job before painting begins.

Simulation Before Deployment

One of the key differences with PL01 is that the job can be simulated before the robot ever starts painting.


Once the striping task is prepared in SiteMind, crews can preview how PL01 will move through the site using the simulator, check the planned route, estimate paint usage and job duration, and adjust the task before deployment. That makes it easier to plan shorter closure windows, keep access open where possible, bring the right amount of paint and schedule crews with a much clearer picture of the job ahead. 

On a busy 500-space commercial parking lot, for example, the work could be divided into five zones of roughly 100 spaces, allowing sections to be restriped in sequence while much of the site remains available for use. 

Simulation can also expose inefficient routes, tight turns or unnecessary travel before they become on-site problems. Combined with PL01’s automated workflow, which can reduce manual labor by up to 80%, this means fewer people tied up on site, less disruption to day-to-day operations and fewer decisions left to make once work is underway. For contractors, the value is straightforward: know the route, material requirement, expected job time and site plan before the first line is painted.

New-Layout Striping Is Only the Beginning

Creating a new parking layout is only one part of the job. Once the design is prepared in the FJD Trion Model, PL01 can take the digital task to the pavement and complete the striping autonomously. The more difficult challenge comes when that same site needs restriping.

By then, the markings may no longer look like the original drawing. Some lines have faded through the middle, others have lost an edge, and previous repainting may have shifted slightly from the original position.

Across a large site, that can leave crews checking and realigning hundreds of markings before fresh paint goes down. Get the alignment wrong by even a small amount and the result is immediately visible: the new line sits beside the old one, leaving a double edge that looks untidy and may need another corrective pass.

PL01 tackles that differently. During restriping, its AI vision system reads the marking that is actually still visible on the pavement and adjusts the robot’s local alignment as it works. Combined with the world model used for overall positioning, PL01 can achieve millimeter-level alignment when repainting existing markings.

The world model provides the global reference, while AI vision handles the final local alignment. For the crew, that means far less time spent stopping at individual bays to recover the old line, reset the position and check whether the new paint will cover it correctly.

What PL01 Changes on a Real Job

Put the whole workflow together, and the difference shows up well beyond the robot itself.

More Than 90% Faster from Setup to Finished Lines

A conventional parking lot project can require crews to measure the site, set out the layout and make repeated adjustments before painting even begins.

By combining rapid site capture, digital task preparation and robotic striping, PL01 can shorten the complete workflow by more than 90% compared with manual measuring and striping.The time saving starts before the first line is painted—not simply when the robot begins moving.

Do More with the Same Crew

PL01 can reduce manual labor by up to 80% while delivering up to 5× faster striping.

For a contractor, those two numbers matter most when considered together. A project that would normally occupy a four-person crew for most of two days can require far fewer hands-on hours, while the striping itself is completed significantly faster.

The result is more than a lower labor bill on one parking lot. It creates more capacity across the week: the same crew can finish one site sooner, move to the next project earlier and take on more work without increasing headcount at the same rate.

Keep More of the Customer's Site Open

A restriping project does not always need to take an entire parking lot out of service.With the work planned in FJD Trion Model, contractors can divide the job around entrances, traffic flow and peak operating hours—for example, closing one parking aisle or section at a time while adjacent areas remain accessible.

For a shopping center, hospital or office site, that can mean restriping without giving the customer a choice between fresh markings and a fully closed parking lot

For contractors, that makes the project easier for the customer to approve while giving the crew a clearer plan for moving through the site with less disruption.

Clearer Job Costs. Stronger ROI.

Before deployment, PL01's simulator can estimate paint usage and job duration, helping contractors quote more accurately, order closer to the amount of paint actually required and schedule the right crew for the job. 

That visibility matters because material, labor and time all affect margin. Over-order paint and money is tied up in unused material. Run short and the job can stop. Underestimate the schedule and a project planned for one shift can spill into additional labor.

The labor savings alone can add up quickly. Take a simple contractor scenario: a four-person crew working two 10-hour days at a loaded labor cost of $40 per hour. That represents 80 labor-hours, or $3,200 in labor. With PL01 reducing manual labor by up to 80%, the potential saving is roughly $2,560 on that project alone.Run the same math across 30 comparable projects a year, and the potential labor saving reaches $76,800—before considering faster project turnover, better paint planning or 50%+ lower maintenance costs.

That is where the ROI becomes tangible: lower cost per job, more capacity from the same crew and savings that continue to build every time PL01 moves to the next site.
